What's Your True Color?

Psychologists agree that colors have distinct personalities of their own.
Blue is calm, red is passionate, yellow is inviting, and so on.. ;) haha

meet a group of friends
who couldn't be more different
yet have so much in common
and prove that sometimes
you have to show..
your true colors

Where's our money?

Our topic today: What is capitalism?

" - Capitalism? Well, why should there be any question about it?
  - Hasn't it given us the highest standard of living in the world?"

" - We're free to try to make a profit, to just get by, or to fail."

" -There is the basis of the capitalistic system: the profit motive."

" - That's what capitalism is: a system of free enterprise.
  - Now tell us what ''free enterprise'' means."

" - The basic law of life is that if you have things, you can easily get more things. Very quickly, one guy can have five times more than anybody else.

" - Free enterprise."
" - Competition."
" - The profit motive."

" - It seems like capitalism is just collapsing on itself.
   - Who got rich here?"

" - Where's our money?
   - Donde?"

" - A financial coup d'Ètat"

" - How did this collapse happen?"

" - I felt that the announcement of this crisis in September, just a few weeks before election, was very suspicious."

" - Wall Street is in charge."

" - Barack Obama is a socialist, it's that simple."  heheh

What the fuck happened?
We want our money back!
;)

Trailer "Capitalism: A Love Story"  a Michael Moore movie about a crime story, a war story about class warfare.

The International

Arise ye workers from your slumbers
Arise ye prisoners of want
For reason in revolt now thunders
And at last ends the age of cant.
Away with all your superstitions
Servile masses arise, arise
We'll change henceforth the old tradition
And spurn the dust to win the prize.

Refrain:
So comrades, come rally
And the last fight let us face
The Internationale unites the human race.

No more deluded by reaction
On tyrants only we'll make war
The soldiers too will take strike action
They'll break ranks and fight no more
And if those cannibals keep trying
To sacrifice us to their pride
They soon shall hear the bullets flying
We'll shoot the generals on our own side.

No saviour from on high delivers
No faith have we in prince or peer
Our own right hand the chains must shiver
Chains of hatred, greed and fear
E'er the thieves will out with their booty
And give to all a happier lot.
Each at the forge must do their duty
And we'll strike while the iron is hot.

The repression of the excluded

BOPE: One of the most efficient urban combat troops in the world.

The police is an institution that was created to be violent and corrupt, to protect the State and the elite.
In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, the policy of repression in the name of the State maintains 2 million people of the "favelas", all those people who have been excluded by the society, calmed and under the control.

A documentary about the conflicts generated by the drug traffic in Brazil.

Rio de Janeiro has got more than 700 favelas. Almost all of them crowded with drug dealers armed to their teeth. They're armed with AR-15, Pisto-UZI, H&K and so on.
Everywhere else in the word those weapons are used in wars. But in Rio, they're the weapons of crime.

Trailer for the Brazilian movie Elite Squad [Tropa de Elite] [2007].

Water Conservation

Globally, water use has been growing at more than twice the rate of population growth in the last century.
If this growth continues, we will face a water shortage.

A person requires about a gallon of drinking water per day.
But the average person actually uses much more than that.

Making simple choises in your daily routine can help save a lot of water:
;)

@[GOOD]

In North America the average person uses 105.7 gallons of water per day.
In Europe the average person uses 52.8 gallons of water per day.
In DEVELOPING COUNTRIES such as Mozambique the average person uses 1.3 gallons of water per day.
As the population grows, the availability of water decreases.

Tis the time's plague when madmen lead the blind [Shakespeare]

Modern servitude is voluntary, endorsed by those slaves who crawl on the surface of the Earth. They buy the merchandises that enslave them every day more. Slaves run after alienating jobs that are gently given to them if they prove to be tamed enough. They choose the masters they will obey. For this absurd tragedy to happen, it has been necessary to dispossess slaves from the awareness of their own exploitation and their alienation. Here is the bizarre modernity of our time. Contrary to slaves from antiquity, servants from the Middle Ages or the working-class from the first industrial revolutions, today we are contemplating people that are totally enslaved. The difference is that they are unaware of their enslavement and those who are aware, choose to ignore it. They ignore rebellion which should be the only genuine reaction of the exploited ones. Slaves accept without question the pitiful life that was planned for them. Renouncing and resignation are the sources of their misfortune.
@[De La Servitude Moderne]

A documentary movie by Jean-François Brient about the totalitarian mercantile system where we are living. Its a radical critic about the liberal democracy where we all lost our liberty and autonomy.

Who is the 'girl with dragon tattoo'?

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (original title in Swedish: "Män som hatar kvinnor" - "Men Who Hate Women") is an award-winning crime novel by the late Swedish author and journalist Stieg Larsson, the first in his "Millennium Trilogy". @[Wikipedia]

The Millennium Trilogy  represented "a new way of making discrimination and violence against women visible".

The series is a good conduit for causes that Larsson fought passionately against: violence against women, right-wing extremism and incompetent media.
